A Second Day in Byron Bay and a Sunrise Trip to the Lighthouse

I walked down to the beach with Cam, Marije, Emily and Frida a little before 6 in the morning.  We were going to the lighthouse to watch the sunrise.  This path was a little different from the one I had taken the day before; it went along the beach.

There was a wallaby running around in the bush on the way there; I caught the creature in mid-leap but the picture was not very good as the light was low.

We arrived at the most easterly point of Australia and decided to stay there to watch the sunrise.

The sunrise begins to unfold.

We made our way up to the lighthouse again.

One last picture of me on the beach before leaving Byron Bay.

And some more pictures in town on the way to the bus stop.

Byron Bay

Arriving in Byron Bay and slowly working my way to the hostel.

Somebody just stopped me in the street and asked me if I spoke an awesome foreign language. I told her I spoke Spanish, and she asked me if she could video me saying "happy birthday to Nina" in Spanish. So I said "Feliz Cumpleaňos a Nina" and went on my merry way.

I just walked by a beer store here. ..the average 6-pack advertised on sale outside the store was about $18.00. I had thought at first that they were $35.00, but that price was for a carton of beer.

Down by the beach in Byron Bay. I spent part of the afternoon taking a swim...there were some huge waves hitting the beach.
