I have a lot of respect for my suitemate Thomas, a paramedic from Switzerland. He speaks very little English, but slogs through anyway, even though he hits multiple dead ends, and really manages to communicate everything he wants to say. Most people would probably fear looking stupid with this type of strategy, but all I can say is, I want to look more stupid next time I struggle to communicate in a language I don't know nearly enough, if it means that I get my point across.
